The Rotterdam Metabolists were founded on March 17th, and unites seven Rotterdam based agencies working on the metabolism of cities for over a decade, around the world. Together they represent more than 50 professionals working daily on research, design, and realization of pioneering projects in the domains of urban planning, architecture, business and industry. Their shared systemic approach enables circular material and economic flows, organic urbanism and resilient sustainable development.
The Rotterdam Metabolists formed on March 17th 2014 in the lobby of the Hilton hotel in Rotterdam as a response to the increasing necessity for cooperation, and as an opportunity to share the decades of experience the members of the movement have in common.

The Rotterdam Metabolists appear together at several events in the coming period, and participate in the programme of the International Architecture Biennale of Rotterdam (IABR).
