One of the key challenges we face in working with sustainability is its multifaceted nature, and intertwined relationships. Individuals and organizations engage in this effort in different sectors, through different approaches, trying to design successful goals and effective strategies to achieve them.
Join us for a 3-day training that equips you with a practical toolbox to be an effective change agent in your line of work and make a sustainable impact!
What's in it for me?
The course will increase your sustainability literacy and leadership skills. You will become more fluent in recognizing patterns and interconnections in society, developing knowledge that supports compelling storytelling. As a result, you will successfully take on increasingly complex issues through strategic thinking.
What will I walk away with?
You will leave the course with a practical toolbox for lasting change. You will acquire the tools to quickly create alignment and consensus in your team, and support your organization in formulating comprehensive goals for net-positive societal impact, as well as agile strategies to achieve them.
What will I learn?
After attending the training, you are able to:
About the framework
Symbiosis in Development (SiD) is a complete framework for integrated sustainable development. It has been successfully applied by global business and industry leaders to increase the sustainability of whole sectors.
About this training
Our 3-day training offers an introduction to SiD, performed in practical co-creation through a mix of activities. Participants discuss and explore all aspects around sustainability, working on real studies and co-creating interventions for societal impact. In the process, you will build on each other’s knowledge and expertise in cross-pollination, forging positive and lasting relationships.
Except Integrated Sustainability is business for over two decades to bring about systemic societal change through applied systems thinking, research, and design-thinking tools. The training is hosted by Freek van der Pluijm, a well-rounded facilitator for organizational change with over a decade of experience in the field of sustainability, strategy, and complexity.
"After attending the SiD training, we used system- and network- related concepts directly on our first assignment. For a local government we were asked to make an action plan for their sustainability program. By mind mapping relationships across the full set of sustainability dimensions we created insight to set priorities and finally make budget decisions."
Mark Bouman, Director at Urban Reality
Participants receive an official SiD basic training certificate upon full completion of the course. This enters participants in the SiD certification database currently under development, and will be published on the SiD website www.thinksid.org.
