Gieljan Beijen

Working on sustainability since 2002, Gieljan is energized by connecting people and their stakes to find shared interests for sustainability improvement. He is a highly committed connector, facilitator and supporter in sustainability change processes.

Gieljan is dedicated to balance economic, ecologic and social stakes along international value chains connecting people in Southern with Northern countries. He has a strong conviction that multidisciplinary perspectives through collaboration and co-creation among actors and stakeholders are key to innovation, required to solve the complex sustainability issues.

Gieljan has an educational background in physical geography and 15 years of working experience in international sustainability development from a Corporate Social Responsibility, inter-company, not-for-profit and entrepreneur perspective. After working in the energy sector, his focus is now on the agri-food sector. At Except Gieljan is program manager Industry &  Food .

Gieljan combines a high sensitivity for people and organisations with strategic and analytic thinking. This enables him to gain trust and facilitate processes to find creative, yet pragmatic and impactful solutions to improve sustainability.
