Buildings
Hey all, and sorry about the long delay in updating. Things are certainly happening, just not too much to report about.
Here’s what has occured over the last few months:
We’ve had two meetings with the city of Rotterdam. Due to some people going away, changing jobs and sabatticals we’ve been ping-ponged between different people which has delayed some things. However we’re settled now (it seems), with someone who’s really putting her effort into it.
We’ve received information about several buildings that would be possibly within our reach to occupy.
They are the following (click on the location name to see the map):
Building previously occupied by Bouwfonds
Corner Weena and Kruisplein.
You can’t get more central than this. Although this building is hidden from the street, it sits right next to the central station and would bea great location. It’s a round building and we’ll soon check this out for its possibilities.
Centrale Post gebouw
Delftseplein.
Also right next ot central station, this is a huge building, which hasrecently been redeveloped. There is space available in this building, but it remains to be seen if this is halfway suitable for us, and not all subdivided on the 14th floor.
Stadwonen

And old building of the Stadswonen corporation that would be available for creative companies.This building is located in South Rotterdam which is an area very few people like. However, active development is booming there, and many cultural enterprises are being moved there. This might be the perfect area for our initiative if we wish to help the city relocate part of its cultural center there. That said, it’s a pretty dismal place, not suited for this kind of thing, and many doubt if the city is being smart about relocating things there. I personally certainly don’t think so.

Just look at this things. It’s awesome… a penitentiary institution in the center of Rotterdam North. I just happen to live right next to it. This one is going defunct in a little while, and we’re tryiong to get information on it, so we can try to get our foot in the door.
